Book Review: Tequila Mockingbird

Pour yourself a drink and brush up on your literary knowledge with…

Tequila Mockingbird by Tim Federle

I received this little gem of a clever guidebook as a gift from a friend the other month. It is laugh out loud funny. I’ve never seen so many literary inside jokes in my whole life, which makes this little book my new favorite thing. The commentary is hilarious, I was giggling over my cup of tea and getting stuff ready for cocktail hour later that evening because of this book.

What I love about this book is it pairs cherished novels with both classic and cutting-edge cocktails. 🙌🏻 from me!

It really was a refreshing reminder for me that drinking is supposed to be fun, and with 65 drink recipes paired with witty commentary on history’s most beloved novels. It actually brings together the kind of cocktails I’ll actually make. Meaning I’ll be grabbing this little book and using it!

In the drinks for dames section I made the one flew over the cosmo’s nest Cocktail which is inspired by Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest novel.

Cosmopolitan’s are a classic cocktail so this was easy for me to enjoy. Anything with Vodka or cranberry juice you can’t go wrong!

It’s a fun little read when you need to read something to get you out of a funk! With ideas for bar bites, drinking games, and whimsical illustrations throughout it makes me want to start up a book club just so I can make and theme every week’s meet ups.😂

If you need to buy a little gift for anyone – friends, family or co-workers you can’t go wrong with this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’s from me!

The best part is – you won’t need a B.A. in English! 😂
