This first book in an ongoing series is a fast paced mystery that’s highly entertaining. It’s filled with danger, seriously bad guys and murder.
The relatable protagonist Finlay Donovan’s life is stuck like so many other women in the world today. She was married with 2 kids expect her husband has left her for a younger, prettier more successful women. Finlay has the kids most of the time while she tries to juggle paying bills from a job that nobody around her takes seriously or respects – she’s a writer.
When Finlay is overheard discussing the plot of her new suspense novel with her agent over lunch, she get’s mistaken for a contract killer and inadvertently accepts an offer to dispose of a problem husband. 😱
This book just flowed, I found myself really invested in her story from the beginning and ended up reading it in 2 days. Thank goodness this is an ongoing series because the cliffhanger at the end of book 1 is 😱 It’s brilliantly written it had me shouting “OMG no!” I’m still thinking about it! 😂
I need to read book 2 stat!
As a stay at home mom I could totally relate to Finlay. Which means that Elle Cosimano has found a permanent fan in me. I cannot wait to see where this series goes. The possibilities are endless and I’m so hungry for more that it will keep living in the back of my mind rent free for the rest of my days.
The whole time I read this book it played out like a TV series. It needs to be made into a TV series and I think it’s already in the early stages of predevelopment by the producers of Pretty Little Liars TV fame. Bravo because you got another hit TV series under your belt if this goes through to completion.
This is of course a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me!
