The last time I posted on this blog was back in June 2023, during the lazy, warm days of summer vacation. My son was off school, filling the house with energy, and our days were a blur of activities, sunshine, and family moments. Fast-forward to the end of summer, and the gears shifted. With the start of the school year came the familiar hustle and bustle of mom life. Errands, cooking, cleaning, and an attempt to carve out some quiet moments for myself became my daily routine. And amidst all that, I always had this nagging thought – I wanted to write. But fear held me back; I kept putting it off, finding every reason not to start. And eventually, the idea of blogging just faded into the background.

Then, in April 2024, something clicked. I signed up for a six-month course with life coach and motivational speaker Mel Robbins. I knew I needed someone to help me refocus on myself, my dreams, and the things that bring me joy. Mel’s course was a lifeline, guiding me back to the goals I’d pushed aside. With each session, I found myself digging deeper, confronting those long-buried fears, and slowly regaining the clarity I’d lost. One by one, I began completing the small projects that had been sitting on my to-do list, projects that reminded me of who I am and what I love. And, most importantly, I started writing again – submitting short stories, daring to share my words with the world once more.

Today, I’m waiting to hear back about some of those stories. But instead of anxiously holding my breath, I’m keeping busy. I’ve taken up pickleball, playing several times a week. The game has become an unexpected passion and a refreshing escape. It’s amazing how, sometimes, the simplest activities can clear our minds and help us reconnect with our creativity. Embracing these new chapters – from taking care of myself to reigniting my passion for writing – has brought me back to the heart of what I love. And so, here I am, dusting off this blog and embracing the thrill of a comeback.

What I Missed About Blogging
When I think about my year away, there’s so much about blogging I genuinely missed. I missed the excitement of putting my thoughts into words and watching those words resonate with readers. I missed the process of curating ideas, letting them brew, and shaping them into stories or insights that might connect with someone else. There’s something profoundly rewarding about sharing pieces of yourself and finding that someone out there relates, understands, or feels inspired. Blogging created that bridge for me, a link to like-minded readers, other writers, and those who share a love for books, storytelling, and life’s little adventures.

I also missed having this space as a creative outlet. Being a stay-at-home mom brings me so much fulfillment, but it also comes with its fair share of routines and responsibilities. Blogging allowed me to step outside of those routines, even if just for a moment, and dive into the world of ideas, reflections, and creativity. Every post was a mini-adventure in itself – a journey through words where I got to explore, learn, and share. Stepping away from that felt like I was closing the door to a world that had been my own.
Rediscovering My Passion for Writing

One of the most valuable lessons I took away from Mel Robbins’ course was the importance of making time for what we love, even when it feels impossible. Do the reps every day even if you don’t want to. It’s so easy to put ourselves last, to prioritize everything else and then realize there’s no time left for us. Mel helped me realize that it’s not selfish to create time for my passions; in fact, it’s essential. Writing is my passion, my creative lifeline, and it deserves a place in my day-to-day life.
Rediscovering my love for writing has brought so much joy back into my life. Submitting short stories, regardless of the outcome, felt like a bold step. It reminded me of how exciting it is to share my voice, to tell stories, and to immerse myself in the craft of storytelling. I’ve always loved books and the magical world of stories, both reading them and writing them. Now, I feel ready to dive back into blogging with that same excitement.
A Vision for This Blog Going Forward

So, what’s next? My vision for this blog is simple yet meaningful. I want it to be a place where I share my journey as a writer, a mom, and a lifelong lover of books. I want to create content that resonates with other book lovers, parents, aspiring writers, and anyone looking to find joy in the everyday. Here’s what you can expect in the months to come:
- Writing and Storytelling Insights: As I dive back into writing, I want to share my process, the things I’m learning, and tips that have helped me along the way. Writing is a journey, and I hope sharing mine will inspire others to start their own.
- Book Reviews and Recommendations: I’ll be sharing my latest reads, book reviews, and recommendations. Books have always been my source of inspiration and comfort, and I want this blog to be a celebration of the incredible stories out there.
- Life as a Stay-at-Home Mom: I’ve found such joy in being a stay-at-home mom, but it’s not without its challenges. I want to share my experiences, from the small victories to the lessons learned, and everything in between. This blog will be a space to reflect on motherhood, family life, and finding balance.
- The Joy of Everyday Life: Sometimes, it’s the simple things that bring us the most happiness – a good cup of tea, a quiet moment with a book, a walk in nature, or a game of pickleball. I want to use this blog to celebrate those little moments that make life meaningful.
- Embracing New Passions: From pickleball to new creative projects, I’ve discovered that life’s too short not to explore new interests. I hope to inspire others to try something new, to embrace change, and to follow their curiosity wherever it may lead.
Embracing a New Chapter

As I kickstart my blog comeback, I’m filled with a sense of excitement and purpose. This isn’t just about blogging; it’s about reclaiming a part of myself that I’d allowed to fade. It’s about reminding myself – and maybe others – that it’s never too late to start again, to rediscover joy, and to embrace new adventures. Writing has always been my passion, and blogging gives me a way to share that passion with others.
If you’re reading this, thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’re here for the writing insights, the book reviews, the mom-life reflections, or just to share a love of life’s little moments, I’m grateful to have you along for the ride. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh starts, and rediscovering the things that make us come alive.
Happy Reading,
Love
Emma
