Sunday Chapters – Life Between The Lines: The Winds Of Change.

Sundays have a way of settling the soul. They offer a quiet kind of magic—a deep breath between what was and what’s coming next. A space to pause, to reflect, to listen to the pull of something more.

Last week, in The Garden Within personal essay, I talked about patience. About how the best things in life—dreams, love, change—take time. Growth happens long before we ever see it bloom. It takes faith, persistence, and the willingness to nurture something, even when there’s no guarantee.

But growth doesn’t just mean planting and waiting. It also means knowing when to let go. When to clear out the old, to make space for the new. And that’s where the winds of change come in.

March carries that energy. It stirs, shifts, unsettles. It reminds us that nothing stays the same forever, that the seasons will turn whether we’re ready or not. Change doesn’t ask for permission. It comes. The question is—what do we do with it?

The Winds of Change

Change rarely arrives with an invitation. More often than not, it comes barreling in like a storm, rattling the windows, shifting the ground beneath our feet. It forces choices—to hold on to what’s familiar or to step forward into something unknown.

And let’s be honest, most of us hesitate. It’s easier to stay where we are, even when we know it’s not where we belong. We make excuses. Not yet. Maybe later. Maybe someday.

But someday is a slippery thing. It has a way of staying just out of reach unless we decide to grab hold of it.

The winds of change don’t wait. They whisper, they nudge, and when we don’t listen, they shove. They dare us to drop the dead weight we’ve been carrying—the doubts, the fear, the what ifs. They remind us that we are stronger than we think, that we are capable, that we are ready.

Even if we don’t feel like it yet.

Letting Go of the Fear

If change is the door to something better, fear is the lock. It plants itself in our minds, whispering warnings. What if you fail? What if you’re not good enough? What if you lose everything?

But I’ve learned that fear doesn’t tell the truth. It tells stories. Stories designed to keep us small, to keep us safe. And sometimes, we listen.

But here’s what I know: failure isn’t the worst thing that can happen. Staying stuck is worse. Ignoring that restless feeling inside you, settling for something that doesn’t fit anymore—that’s worse.

Maybe you’ve been carrying around a dream, keeping it in your back pocket. Maybe you’ve spent years convincing yourself you’re not ready.

But what if you are?

What if the only thing standing between you and the life you want is the willingness to take that first step?

There is no perfect moment. There is only now.

Stepping into the Unknown

Taking that first step before you feel ready—that’s where the magic happens. That’s where you start to shift your own story.

I think about the woman who has spent years building a life that no longer fits her. The one who wakes up each morning, going through the motions, feeling like something’s missing but afraid to admit it.

Maybe she’s afraid to leave the job that drains her. Maybe she’s afraid to walk away from the relationship that no longer brings her joy. Maybe she’s afraid to chase the dream that once felt impossible.

But then, one day, she listens. One day, she decides. And everything shifts.

Change doesn’t have to be a leap. It can be a step. A choice. A single act of courage. And once she takes it, once she moves, she realizes she was always stronger than she thought.

The Strength to Keep Going

Transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It’s not a lightning strike—it’s a slow burn. It’s the choice to keep showing up, even when you’re not sure it’s working. It’s the moments that don’t feel big or dramatic but are moving you forward, inch by inch.

And there will be setbacks. There will be moments when you wonder if you made the wrong choice. But growth doesn’t happen in straight lines. It happens in the in-between.

I remind myself of this often. That I am allowed to evolve. That I don’t need to have it all figured out before I begin. That the future isn’t something to be afraid of—it’s something I get to shape.

And the same is true for you.

Saying Yes to Ourselves

At the heart of change is one simple truth: we have to say yes to ourselves. Yes to our dreams, yes to our growth, yes to the belief that we are worthy of more.

For too long, we’ve been told to wait. To be practical. To play it safe. But we do not need permission to take up space, to want more, to live lives that make us feel something.

We do not have to apologize for wanting more.

So, whatever it is you’ve been waiting on—whatever dream you’ve been keeping tucked away—this is your sign. The winds of change are here. The question is, are you ready to let them carry you forward?

I hope you are.

Until next time…
May your Sundays be unhurried, your reflections gentle, and your heart open to the stories still waiting to unfold.

I’ll meet you again between the lines.

Love,
Emma 🌿✨
